This amazing handmade hardwood chair comes from the Swat Valley in Pakistan - it is a unique and very old piece of furniture. Sitting on nicely turned feet, the chunky upright fronts have decorative finials, (a small area of finial top is missing) and are hand-carved with repeated leaf/foliage motifs. The backrest features a flower burst design, with a stylised lotus flower above. The reverse of the back panel is plain. The seat and back restraint are made from intricately woven and twisted leather. All surfaces are scuffed and marked - in keeping with a genuinely old, well-used piece of furniture.
Please note: This is an old and fragile item that is not robust enough for everyday use.
Care information: Do not place in direct sunlight or close to heat sources, (radiators, etc.) Use a soft-bristled brush or a lightly dampened soft cloth to remove dust particles. Do not vacuum or use polishes or cleaning products.
