Further information: Coffee root timber is a natural by-product of the coffee industry. After about 20 years of cropping, coffee trees lose their vigour – old plantations are grubbed up and new trees planted in their place. Coffee tree roots were traditionally used as firewood, but our suppliers have come up with a new use for them; recycling the roots to make these decorative bowls.
