Pair Of Vintage Tribal Chair From Pakistan Fairly Traded

Pair of amazing handmade hardwood chairs comes from the Swat Valley in Pakistan - Each chair it is a unique and a very old piece of furniture.
Chair A Sitting on nicely turned feet, the chunky upright fronts have decorative finials, (a small area of finial top is missing) and are hand-carved with repeated leaf/foliage motifs. The backrest features a flower burst design, with a stylised lotus flower above. The reverse of the back panel is plain. The seat and back restraint are made from intricately woven and twisted leather. All surfaces are scuffed and marked - in keeping with a genuinely old, well-used piece of furniture.
Chair B The sturdy upright fronts are decorated with finial tops and are carved with a running frieze of stylised flowers. The stunning central panel features stylised fern head motifs and a lotus bloom. The reverse of the panel is plain. The seat and back restraint are made from intricately woven and twisted leather. All surfaces are scuffed and marked - in keeping with a genuinely old, well-used piece of furniture.

Please note: These chairs are very old and fragile items they are not robust enough for everyday use.

Care information: Do not place in direct sunlight or close to heat sources, (radiators, etc.) Use a soft-bristled brush or a lightly dampened soft cloth to remove dust particles. Do not vacuum or use polishes or cleaning products.
